And So it begins...

Yesterday was the last day of school, which means today officially the first day of hearing, I'm bored. I will fight the bored word with every piece of momunition I can find including Popsicles, baby chicks, swimming pools, books, fireworks, and summer blockbusters. And then I will explain to my kids that every time they tell me they are bored, it tells me they need to think a little harder - perhaps write a book report or two. That ought to keep them quiet.

Someone asked me today what my summer has in store. The answer is - nothing. Miss 8 asked if maybe we could just go to Florida for awhile. Mister 4 wants a trip to the land of Giant Trillionaire Mice *read Disney World* and Mr. Ten just wants to not have to go to camp.  I won't rule out Florida and since the House of Mouse is in the state, perhaps.... if I win the lottery.

Come on swim team practice... COME ON!!

Summer Slacker

Its not officially here yet, but I feel it coming on. Its slacker summer time, which is probably really bad news since I pretty much feel like one taking a nap most of the time anyway. Maybe now I can just blame it on the sunshine or that delicious heat outside. My motivation to do much more than lay by the pool, drink sangria and discuss excellent Avon products is in the tank. I could go for a s'more or maybe a baseball game and definitely a swim meet, but don't ask me to vacuum or come up with a menu, or, God forbid, clean the bathrooms. (Even though I really did do all of that last week.). Starting Thursday at 2:38, summer officially comes barreling through my doors in the form of a newly crowned fifth and third grader. That is enough work to last until August right there. Live it up.
